Main duties of the job Applications are invited from Operating Department Practitioners and Registered Nurses who have extensive experience in Theatres. Possession of a Post Basic Qualification or equivalent and specialist competencies is essential. Completion of management/leadership development would be desirable. Applicants should hold a relevant teaching/mentoring qualification. Candidates must be able to demonstrate clinical expertise and management and leadership skills. It would be expected that applicants would be able to demonstrate excellent skills in clinical practice and organisational ability, together with superb communication and interpersonal skill. Person Specification Qualifications Registered Nurse (General Level 1) with valid NMC Registration. Operating department practitioner (City&Guilds 752/ODP level 3 or Diploma/BSC Operating department practice) with valid HCPC registration To have completed the national PEAP programme for practice supervisors or equivalent teaching and assessing qualification for those with ENB998. Completion of Mentor Preparation. Working towards degree level credits in associated pathway Post registration specialist course Management and Leadership Qualification. Clinical Experience Extensive clinical experience in area of specialism Evidence of setting, implementing and audit of clinical standards. Evidence of promoting high quality clinical practice as expert in the team Evidence of responding to change in a positive manner Ability to demonstrate development of individualised programmes of care. Knowledge of Risk Management. An understanding of the clinical governance agenda Development of clinical competencies. Experience of clinical supervision. Involvement in research projects and quality developments. Skills and Knowledge Recruitment and Selection Staff Communication Staff Counselling Staff Development Forums Seamless Surgery Human Resource Management Skills Experience of Change Management Apptitude and Attitude Be Able to demonstrate: Asertiveness and Confidence Ability to build a cohesive team.
