LEARNING MENTORChrist Church C of E Primary School is seeking to appoint a permanent, full time LEARNING MENTOR to join our team. The post is for 35 hours per week. We want all children to ‘live life in all its fullness’ and this means that we are a learning community, learning with each other, seeking to continually improve our knowledge, understanding and skills in order for pupils to flourish and fulfil their potential.As a Learning Mentor, you must have a working knowledge of SEMH and associated difficulties, child development and methods of setting realistic programmes for disaffected and underachieving children. Your role will include one to one mentoring and support to improve academic progress and learning, liaising closely with colleagues, families and outside agencies and supporting in the monitoring of behaviour and attendance of the identified groups. You will also be responsible for leading SEMH intervention for small groups of children and leading lunchtime activities to promote pupil engagement. The successful candidate will have proven experience working with young people, ideally from a primary setting.You will also have excellent communication skills with children, parents and professionals and a sound knowledge and understanding of child development, and the issues relating to social exclusions.
