Overview Your main responsibilities will be to deliver a range of rehabilitation interventions aimed at changing the attitudes, beliefs and behavior of people on probation. You will work across a large regional area, delivering programmes in the evening and travelling to different locations as required. The role will involve group work and individual 1:1 sessions, with a focus on reducing re‑offending, protecting the public and supporting people to build constructive and meaningful lives in the community. Key Responsibilities Responsible for the planning and delivery of interventions in a group or on an individual basis to people on probation, creating a therapeutic and safe working environment in line with operational manuals. Will adhere to the statutory responsibility for safeguarding (Children and Adult) and multi‑agency public protection policies to manage all risks of serious harm. Will manage group dynamics and a range of complexities and needs of people on probation, ensuring effective targeting of the intervention and that learning outcomes are achieved; responsible for addressing any problematic behaviour within groups. Continually monitor and make evidence‑based recommendations around suitability, risk, safety and wellbeing throughout the intervention (pre, during and post) to inform future sentence management. Complete timely and accurate recording of all relevant data – attendance, feedback, risk issues and reports – meeting quality assurance requirements. Liaise and provide timely communication and analysis of people on probation’s progress or concerns to relevant staff or stakeholders (Courts, Criminal Justice Agencies etc.) responsible for enforcement and risk management plans. Deliver workshops and briefings to Probation staff and external stakeholders on the range, purpose and content of available interventions. Demonstrate pro‑social modelling skills, consistently reinforcing pro‑social behaviour and attitudes and challenging anti‑social behaviour and attitudes. Participate in regular video monitoring feedback sessions to ensure audit standards are adhered to, and to review and reflect on practice and implement professional development. Pay and Working Hours If you are successful in the recruitment process to join the Probation Service, your starting salary will be £26,475, the minimum of the pay band. Some evening work and travel across the Dyfed‑Powys area is required. In addition to the base salary, you will be entitled to unsocial hours payments for working in the evenings and/or on Saturdays – a 50% premium for Saturday work and a 30% premium for evening work. The Probation Service offers annual pay progression through a Competency‑Based Framework (CBF), with increases as competence grows.
