Acting Up Community Adult Consultant Psychiatrist MHWT WEST Barking, IG11 9LX Salary: £109,725 - £145,478 per annum (Pro‑rata) Contract: Fixed Term – 3 months Hours: Full‑time 10 Programmed Activities (DCC:SPA = 7.5:2.5) On call: Frequency 1:50; Category A – 3% on call supplement Location: Barking Community Hospital, Upney Lane, Barking, Essex, IG11 9LX Job Summary Act as an Adult Consultant Psychiatrist within the West Mental Health & Wellness Team at Barking Community Hospital, supporting multidisciplinary care for adults in West Barking and Dagenham. The role is a 3‑month fixed term but offers a full‑time working pattern with on‑call duties. Key Responsibilities Work as part of multidisciplinary teams providing care to adult people with mental health needs across West Barking and Dagenham. Provide senior medical support and guidance to the team. Work directly with adults and their families and liaise with external adult mental health providers and acute hospitals. Participate in the on‑call rota (currently 1:50) with a 3% basic salary Category A on‑call supplement. Support peers, team leader and be an effective team member, allowing them to work with their own initiative. Work alongside another Adult Consultant Psychiatrist and trainees within the service. Commit to collaborative working, actively supporting and liaising with other health and social professionals and agencies. Qualifications and Registration Full GMC registration with a licence to practice. CCT or equivalent. Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it. Approved Clinician status, or eligibility for it. Inclusion in, or eligibility for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of obtaining CCST. Additional Information Disclosure and Barring Service Check (RAOS 1975).
