Corporate Director Health and Adult Services

Northallerton, United Kingdom Healthcare Management Full time

We are looking to appoint our new Corporate Director Health and Adult Service. North Yorkshire is England's largest county and a beautiful, vibrant place to live and work. After nearly 12 years, our current Director Richard Webb is progressing his career as Chief Executive for City of York Council. We wish him well in his new role and look forward to continuing to work closely with him as we now look to the future and the recruitment of our new Director to lead our next chapter. We have a reputation for delivering high quality services. Our health and adult social care services are nationally recognised for their excellence, currently rated joint 3rd highest performing authority in the country in the recent CQC inspection. Whilst what we do, we do well, we are not complacent; with true Yorkshire resilience we constantly strive for further improvement. We have a great deal more to learn, more to do for our communities and we will use our extensive resources drive forward. Our new director will: expand our much-lauded extra care programme, embed our service redesign creating specialised county wide services, enhancing community based social care and strengthen professional practice, drive our new North Yorkshire Health collaborative to oversee £590m investment in prevention and community services roll out 5 new Care and Support Hubs – a £60m investment for intermediate care and specialist dementia care deliver the next stages prevention programme across public health and adult social care, including expanding our work with voluntary sector community anchors, develop services for people facing multiple disadvantage due to mental health, substance use and transient housing The Council has celebrated our 2-year anniversary following local government reform and the merging of the 8 district, borough and county councils to form The North Yorkshire Council in April 2023. As the county council was the continuing authority, health and adult services were unchanged by this structural transformation. However, unification brings the opportunity to improve localised services in this great county and secure greater investment through our devolution deal. You will be welcomed by Members, Management Board colleagues and a corporate suite of support services; we are united as one Council: jointly ambitious for residents across our region. Ideal for a driven health and adult social care leader wanting to step up to the leadership challenge. You will be supported by strong corporate and service teams with a high-performance culture and significant resources that will enable you to tackle issues head on, develop innovative practice and really make your mark here. Want to learn more? Access our dedicated campaign site to learn more and view a video of the current post holder, Richard Webb, and our Chief Executive, Richard Flinton outlining the key aspects of the role, our current position and the key priorities for the incumbent post holder. We encourage further conversations to explore this opportunity and look forward to discussing your interest further.
