Our client based in Yateley is looking for an Electronic Hardware Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The role requires attending the office two days per week, with the remainder of work performed from home. The Role As an Electronic Hardware Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and testing advanced electronic systems. You will work across the full product lifecycle — from concept and design to production and ongoing support — collaborating closely with other hardware and systems engineers to turn requirements into high-performance, reliable hardware. Key Responsibilities Design and schematic capture of analogue and digital hardware PCB layout for complex multi‑layer boards Test and fault‑finding of electronic hardware Firmware and FPGA design Development of test processes, equipment, and validation systems Through‑life support, maintenance, and obsolescence management Documentation and design verification About You You’ll be an engineer with a passion for electronic design, curious about adjacent engineering disciplines, and eager to grow your expertise in a supportive environment. Essential Skills and Experience Degree (2:1 or above) in Electronic Engineering or equivalent Strong electronic design skills Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills A collaborative, proactive approach and desire to learn Master’s degree in a related field FPGA design (VHDL) using Intel Quartus Prime or similar tools Analogue circuit design and signal processing Experience with interfaces such as Ethernet, RS232, RS485, SPI, I2C Embedded software development in C/C++ Experience transitioning designs to production and implementing Design for Test (DFT) principles What's on Offer Opportunity to work on cutting‑edge sonar and marine systems Collaborative, close‑knit engineering team Investment in professional development and training Hybrid working (onsite presence required in Sparkford for hands‑on hardware work) Competitive salary and benefits package If you’re an engineer with a passion for innovative hardware design and want to contribute to world‑class technology, we’d love to hear from you.
