Our client based in Yateley is looking for an Electronic Hardware Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. You will be required to attend their office 2 days per week and the rest can be work from home.The RoleAs an Electronic Hardware Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and testing advanced electronic systems. You’ll work across the full product lifecycle — from concept and design to production and ongoing support — collaborating closely with other hardware and systems engineers to turn requirements into high-performance, reliable hardware.Key Responsibilities:Design and schematic capture of analogue and digital hardwarePCB layout for complex multi-layer boardsTest and fault-finding of electronic hardwareFirmware and FPGA designDevelopment of test processes, equipment, and validation systemsThrough-life support, maintenance, and obsolescence managementDocumentation and design verificationAbout YouYou’ll be an engineer with a passion for electronic design, curious about adjacent engineering disciplines, and eager to grow your expertise in a supportive environment.Essential skills and experience:Degree (2:1 or above) in Electronic Engineering or equivalentStrong electronic design skillsExcellent problem-solving and communication skillsA collaborative, proactive approach and desire to learnDesirable experience:Master’s degree in a related fieldFPGA design (VHDL) using Intel Quartus Prime or similar toolsAnalogue circuit design and signal processingPCB design using Altium DesignerExperience with interfaces such as Ethernet, RS232, RS485, SPI, I2CEmbedded software development in C/C++Experience transitioning designs to production and implementing Design for Test (DFT) principlesWhat’s on OfferOpportunity to work on cutting-edge sonar and marine systemsCollaborative, close-knit engineering teamInvestment in professional development and trainingHybrid working (onsite presence required in Sparkford for hands-on hardware work)Competitive salary and benefits packageIf you’re an engineer with a passion for innovative hardware design and want to contribute to world-class technology, we’d love to hear from you.
