Relocation support will be provided to the successful candidate if required.Competitive Salary with Salary Sacrificing up to $15,899Training and Development opportunities in a Supportive Team Environment5 weeks Annual Leave with Office Closure over the Christmas PeriodThe RoleThe Community Support Officer is responsible for the development and promotion of community programs that add value to the lives of and meet the needs of the Dambimangari community. This is achieved through engagement of partners and sponsors to fund and deliver programs, ensuring the best outcomes for Dambimangari People. The Community Support Officer will work closely with the CEO, Board, and other key stakeholders of DAC to effectively promote and communicate programs to members and provide feedback on their effectiveness.Important: It is a genuine occupational requirement for the successful candidate to be Male in accordance with the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) Section 27 and Section 50.Key DutiesGather feedback from Corporation members on key issues and provide insights to the CEO to support Board decision-making.Collaborate with the CEO and staff to improve communication with members including regular Facebook posts, newsletter articles, and face‑to‑face consultations, and regular updates to members.Provide daily support to Dambimangari male Elders, including assistance with administration, finances, and connecting them to essential services.Guide Elders through application processes for services, benefits, and government programs.Encourage participation of Elders in DAC events, services and consultations.Develop pathways for member involvement in succession planning for all DAC‑related affairs.Lead and actively participate in programs and services that support young people and families within the Dambimangari community.Engage youth in accessing services that enhance employment opportunities and promote mental and physical wellbeing.About YouYou are a motivated and culturally aware professional with a passion for community development and engagement. You thrive in roles that make a real difference and bring a strong mix of cultural understanding, practical experience, and strategic capability, including:Relevant qualification in community development, social work, or leadership, or equivalent experience.Hands‑on experience working with Aboriginal communities and understanding cultural sensitivities.Demonstrated ability to source, apply for, and acquire funding, as well as manage program budgets effectively.Proven experience delivering community initiatives that create meaningful impact.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with emotional intelligence and the ability to build strong relationships.Proficiency in MS Office Suite and strong organisational skills.Current C Class Driver’s License.Ability to obtain and maintain:Working with Children Check.National Police Clearance.First Aid Certificate.About the Dambeemangaddee peopleWe are the Traditional Owners of the land and waters along the north‑west Kimberley coastline, extending from the Robinson River, just north of Derby to the Prince Regent River in the far north of the Kimberley region in WA.
