SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: High Wycombe Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs? Academics is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive school in the High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire who are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to support students on a 1:1 and small group basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in SEN, youth work, or behaviour support to join a supportive team and have a real impact. About the Role: Supporting pupils with SEMH needs in the classroom and during interventions Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement personalised support plans Using de‑escalation strategies and restorative approaches to manage behaviour Helping to create a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment You Will Need: Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (in school, care, youth work or similar settings) Strong communication and relationship‑building skills A calm, patient, and empathetic approach A DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one through us) Why Academics?
