Senior Clinical Fellow in PROMs for Prostate Cancer The closing date is 04 December 2025 Go back Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust The post would suit a doctor who has completed at least 7 years of postgraduate training (equivalent if overseas). The position offers an opportunity to gain exposure to the application of PROMs in clinical practice, which can help inform and enhance clinical decision-making, ultimately leading to more patient-centered care. The post holder will gain hands‑on experience in implementing and managing a PROMs programme in a real‑world clinical setting. They will be expected to collaborate with others to develop strategies to improve patient and clinician engagement with the programme, while also addressing potential health inequalities. Additionally, the post holder will contribute to the Prostate PROMs research projects and will be encouraged to present at national and international meetings. Responsibilities Develop and optimise the PROMs programme for patients with prostate cancer across the south east London cancer network. Provide support for patients participating in the PROMs programme. Develop educational materials and training for both clinicians and patients regarding PROMs. Collect data and contribute to the establishment of score thresholds of clinical significance to aid the clinical utility of the PROMs. Contribute to a feasibility study assessing the impact of identified strategies on patient outcomes and adherence to the programme among patients and clinicians. Contribute to the department’s record in producing national and international peer‑reviewed work. Participate in clinical and other service activities to ensure a high standard of patient care and contribute to service developments. Take part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training. About us Guy's and St Thomas' is among the UK's busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long‑term conditions. Qualifications Full GMC Registration and hold a license to practice MRCP IELTS exam pass result at time of application (if applicable) GMC Certification of Completion of Training (CCT) in Clinical Oncology FRCR Parts 1 and 2 Experience Comprehensive clinical experience in Oncology Experience in systemic anti-cancer therapy and/or radiotherapy Knowledge and experience of using PROMs Experience in Prostate Oncology Understanding of the principles and applications of clinical research Evidenced medical audit/Quality improvement project Experience in conducting research Evidence of at least one publication Skills Good communication skills and enthusiasm Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to relate with colleagues and patients Ability to work as an effective member of the MDT Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
