Literacy Support Officer

Role Summary As Literacy Support Officer, you will play a key role in promoting a love of reading across the school. Working closely with the Literacy Lead, you will support the running and development of our library resource centre, coordinate reading initiatives, and provide targeted literacy interventions for students. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference to young people's literacy, confidence, and engagement with learning. Required Skills & Experience Strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with young people Works well as part of a team and can manage own workload effectively Enthusiastic about reading and literacy development Experience in a school library or learning support environment Please ensure that within your application you provide the names, addresses, and contact details for two referees, one of whom should be your current or most recent employer. Working Pattern & Salary Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, term time plus 5 days Salary: Grade 4 (NJC scale points 6 - 8), £22,389 - £24,038 per annum Our recent Ofsted inspection (May 2024) rated us GOOD, reflecting our rapid journey of improvement and our determination to provide the highest-quality education to every young person.
