Role Overview As Head of Market for the Land Domain, you will lead a strategically critical portfolio, shaping the direction and growth of our defence partnerships. This role requires a proven leader with extensive experience engaging at senior levels across the defence sector, driving complex business development initiatives, and securing large‑scale, long‑term programmes. You’ll play a key role in defining our market strategy, strengthening client relationships, and identifying opportunities that advance both our commercial objectives and national defence priorities. What You’ll Be Doing Oversee business development efforts across key defence, engineering, and technology sectors, aligning with strategic objectives. Build and manage long‑term client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor and first point of contact. Accountable for identifying and mitigating commercial risks. Identify and qualify new business opportunities. Provide accurate forecasting and reporting of pipeline, performance, and market intelligence to senior leadership. Line manager for a group of Business Managers on a day‑to‑day basis, providing functional leadership, coaching and mentoring. Essential Experience Skillful in enhancing business development and boosting sales, ideally within Defence/Land Domain, but applicable to wider defence, engineering, or technology sectors. Ability to engage with technical teams and translate complex offerings into compelling business value. Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Organised professional with a strategic mindset and a results‑driven attitude. Desirable Experience Background in consulting would be advantageous. Existing network within defence primes, government agencies, or related industries. Experience with framework agreements and public sector bids. Degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
