Join our Balvac team as a Methods and Proposals Engineer and you’ll deliver complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you.What you'll be doingReport to the Engineering Lead; collaborate with Technical, Preconstruction, and Operations teamsReview enquiry documents and prepare internal briefing materialSubmit technical queries as neededMaintain document control of all technical informationDevelop delivery plans with clear deliverables and timescalesAssist with cost and time estimates when requiredResearch and support engineering solution development and buildabilityIdentify and recommend techniques/methods for engineering tasksConduct buildability reviews, ensuring programme, budget, safety, and quality considerationsProduce documents such as technical proposals, reports, sketches, method statements, and test plansSupport in drafting and reviewing design briefsWho we're looking forCivil engineering experience (with a contractor or consultant)Engineering degree (or equivalent); professional membership (e.g., IEng MICE, CEng MICE) preferredSpecialist experience (desirable, not essential) in areas such as:Structural concrete repairStrengthening & protectionCathodic protectionSprayed concreteCFRP strengtheningWaterproofingPost-tensioningResin injection (vacuum-assisted)GroutingLeak sealing & water managementBridge jacking & bearing replacementBridge refurbishmentAwareness of industry standards, specifications, and specialist construction techniques is a plus.Why work for usDay in, day out, our teams deliver amazing projects in challenging conditions; developing, managing and maintaining the vital infrastructure and public spaces that modern economies, societies and communities rely on.About usBalvac is a leading specialist contractor in structural repair, strengthening and refurbishment , and part of the Balfour Beatty Group.
