An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cellular Pathology leadership team in CTM. You will have the opportunity to lead and develop routine histology and training across the department. • This role requires the role holder to lead the day-to-day running of routine histology services. • The role requires the role holder to lead the departmental training across Cellular Pathology. • The role holder will respond to day-to-day queries and elevate any complex issues to their Line Manager. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. Be a Senior Biomedical Scientist, Histology Manager and Training Lead in the main histology laboratory within the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) Cellular Pathology Department. Be responsible for the day-to-day management of all technical activities of the histology laboratory thereby assisting in the smooth running of the service. Be responsible for leading the training within the department, to support and develop staff within the Cellular Pathology Team. Expected to maintain an awareness of developments, contribute to strategic planning and provide cover for the other sections of the Cellular Pathology Department. Act as a day-to-day manager for staff, providing daily leadership of the routine histology section, embracing the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB) values and behaviours to inspire excellence. Work to broad occupational policies and have significant discretion when dealing with a range of staff and equipment issues.
