Outpatients Nurse – Emerson’s Green Hospital, Bristol Practice Plus Group is hiring an Outpatients Nurse to join our Emerson’s Green Hospital, Bristol. The role requires delivering a high standard of patient care supported by evidence‑based practice. Responsibilities Deliver a high standard of patient care supported by evidence‑based practice. Function as a clinical practitioner within the Outpatient and Pre‑assessment Service, managing and organising a daily workload. Answer, manage telephone calls and address issues, either by advising or seeking help from clinicians or the RMO. Work with all members of the multidisciplinary team, participating in all activities of the department to enhance patient experience and ensure safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Collaborate with the medical staff to ensure patients are medically cleared for surgery, reducing cancellations. Effectively support, supervise and teach clinical registered and support staff to ensure time and resources are managed through effective teamwork. Ensure compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulatory standards and NHSLA where relevant. Communicate promptly with the line manager to resolve concerns of patients and families. Ensure accidents/incidents and complaints are correctly dealt with and documented on Datix, informing all relevant personnel in accordance with Practice Plus Group policy. Qualifications NMC Registered Nurse Part 1. Evidence of continued professional development. Experience Recent experience at Band 5 or equivalent. Ability to demonstrate evidence‑based practice. Skills and Knowledge Ability to take a clinical lead while reporting to a team leader. Ability to maintain and enhance effective working relationships. IT skills. Ability to plan, allocate and evaluate own work and develop self to enhance performance of others. Ability to teach, train and develop Health Care Assistants. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Report writing skills. Able to meet the needs of patients. Prepared to undertake appropriate pre‑assessment qualifications and courses.
