Contracts Officer (Energy from Waste) – Gloucestershire County Council Job Details Job Title: Contracts Officer (Energy from Waste) Job Location: Shire Hall, Block 1, 1st Floor Salary: £41,771-£47,181 per annum Hours per week: 37.00 Contract type: Permanent Closing date: 18.01.2026 Job Requisition Number: 10345 Post open to job share Role OverviewThe Waste Management Team manages the Waste Disposal Authority functions at Gloucestershire County Council. This role supports the contracts for the operation of the Council’s energy‑from‑waste facility and the sale of the electricity it generates. The focus is on data management and finance, with regular site visits and stakeholder interaction. About YouYou will have proven experience in contract management, financial forecasting, data management and stakeholder engagement across public and private sectors. Strong analytical skills, advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and the ability to interpret complex data are essential. Excellent communication, attention to detail and presentation skills are required. A background in waste management or the energy industry is beneficial but not essential.
