Non-Resident Fellow - Oncology We have an exciting opportunity for a Non-Resident Fellow to join our Oncology team at The London Clinic located at our state‑of‑the‑art Cancer Centre in Central London. We are open to a job‑share arrangement (one week on, one week off) to support candidates who wish to pursue research opportunities. We have a total of 8 premises, and state‑of‑the‑art facilities where we perform highly complex procedures as well as routine surgery and medicine. Job Profile: As a Non‑Resident Oncology Fellow, you will provide clinical and medical support to patients on the Oncology ward, and Outpatient Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy Units, through the provision of general patient care and medical procedures. Job Type: Full‑Time, 1 or 2 year fixed term contract, with possibility of further extension. Hours/Shifts: WTE is 44 hours per week incl. 4 hours CPD, working 8 am‑5 pm (1 hour for lunch) Monday to Friday, plus up to 1 in 4 Saturday morning sessions (9 am‑1 pm). There may also be the option to support a PhD or higher degree of study and reduce the working hours. Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for the clinical care and supervision of Oncology inpatients and outpatients, conducting assessment and clinical evaluations (Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy) in conjunction with the Consultants and multidisciplinary teams, including rewriting of drug charts, writing up TTOs etc. Work closely with the Consultants and nursing staff to support patient treatments and management of symptom control, as appropriate. Support management of acute oncological conditions including neutropenia sepsis, treatment related toxicities and other oncological emergencies. Participate on daily ward rounds and unit meetings, as well as ensuring all records are efficiently and accurately maintained and utilised, for reporting and audit procedures. Attend to emergencies and urgent requests from the senior nursing staff in the absence of the admitting Consultant, and you will also form part of the acute Oncology steering group. Skills & Experience: Full GMC Registration with License to Practice as well as an MBBS or equivalent as well as an Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Intermediate Life support qualification. Completion of General Medical Training (FY1/2) with post qualification medical/surgical experience. Experience of acute medicine and high dependency / intensive care and confident in the initial management of a deteriorating patient. Ability to assess and manage patients presenting with acute oncological symptoms, as well as performing all routine clinical procedures with the ability to interpret standard investigations, including blood results (FBCX, coagulation and biochemistry), blood gases, ECG and CXR. Effective communication and clinical decision‑making skills, with the ability to form strong relationships with patients, colleagues and consultants. Highly self‑motivated, confident, articulate, diplomatic and tactful with a polite, friendly and courteous manner.
