This is a great time to join The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Senior Pharmacy Assistant – Dispensing Services. We are currently in the process of redeveloping the hospital to provide a new state‑of‑the‑art hospital for the residents of Hillingdon, and beyond, which supports the very best in delivery of healthcare and will be fit for our future. Job Summary Dispenses medicines to outpatients and inpatients. Ensures good housekeeping in the dispensary by keeping benches and baskets clear of drugs no longer required. Organises and maintains medicine supplies within the dispensary. Resolution of stock issues according to departmental procedures. Provide Pharmacy Dispensary support. Deal with enquiries from patients and healthcare staff. Undertakes related clerical duties. Training & supervision.> Dispensing and patient counselling. Provide a top‑up service of stock items to wards and departments where required. Cover reception for outpatients and inpatients requiring use of digital systems. Competent in the use of the automated dispensing equipment and resolves operational issues. The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services, including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics, and maternity services. The Trust’s services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit, and outpatient clinics. The safety and well‑being of our patients and staff is paramount and we are making urgent improvements to address this – particularly in infection prevention and control.
