OverviewJoin to apply for the Cover Supervisor role at Lift Schools.Position: Cover Supervisor | Location: Lift Kingswood, Wawne Road, Bransholme, Kingston Upon Hull, HU7 4WR, United Kingdom | Salary: NJC 20-24 £32,597 - £35,412 (FTE) £28,631 - £31,104 (Actual) + well-being cash plan + pension (LGPS) + additional Lift Schools benefits | Hours: 37 hours per week, 40 weeks per year | Contract: Full time, permanent | Closing date: 14 December | Start date: January 2025Lift Kingswood is growing, and we are seeking a confident, proactive, and adaptable Cover Supervisor to supervise classes during short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged and classroom expectations are upheld.This is a strong opportunity for those considering a future in teaching, education, or youth work, or for individuals with strong classroom management skills who enjoy working with young people.ResponsibilitiesDeliver pre-prepared lessons to classes across the school in the absence of the teacher.Ensure students remain on task and follow the school’s behaviour expectations.Manage the classroom environment to support positive behaviour and effective learning.Provide feedback to the relevant teacher about lesson progress, behaviour, or issues arising.Supervise students during non-class time when required (e.g., registration, breaks, exams).Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain the safety and wellbeing of all students.Assist with administrative tasks or learning support activities when cover is not required.QualificationsA minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.An A level(s) (or equivalent) within other subjects.Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to young people.Confidence in managing a classroom and maintaining order.Ability to follow lesson plans and deliver instructions clearly.Strong organisational skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.Reliable, punctual, and able to use initiative.Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students.About the SchoolLift Kingswood is a national beacon of educational excellence.
