OverviewSenior Collections Analyst with SQL £60-77k (hybrid)As a Collections Senior Analyst, you will play a key role in shaping, analysing, and optimising our clients collections strategies to deliver sustainable recoveries, regulatory compliance, and excellent customer outcomes.This role focuses on monitoring collections performance, developing predictive models and treatment strategies, and partnering closely with Operations and external partners to maximise effectiveness. You will be responsible for ensuring that collections activity not only improves financial results but also supports vulnerable customers and aligns with the principles of responsible lending.Working closely with the Credit Risk Manager and collaborating with teams across product, data science, and customer operations, you will develop actionable insights that drive improvements in collections effectiveness and customer experience. Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the development and implementation of collections segmentation and strategies, ensuring they balance business goals with fair customer outcomes.Lead complex analysis of collections strategies and performance, providing actionable insights to optimise risk management strategies.Take ownership of key metrics related to collections, identifying trends and recommending improvements to strategies and policies.Influence senior stakeholders through the presentation of analysis and recommendations in order to drive impactful change.Collaborate with the Operations and Data Science teams to provide data-driven insights that improve agent performance, customer contact strategies, and outcomes.Support in testing and validating new collections tools, processes, and decision-making frameworks.Analyse and evaluate external collections partners (e.g., DCAs, debt sale), producing performance reporting and recommendations to maximise value and customer experience.Stay updated on industry trends, collections practices, and regulatory changes, sharing relevant insights with the team.Mentor and support junior analysts, fostering a culture of analytical excellence and continuous development within the team. Role RequirementsThis is an important role in the analytics team of a fast-growing business and hence the ideal candidate would be someone who :Is passionate about data, analytics, and credit risk management.Is proactive, self-motivated, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment.Has excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex insights to both technical and non-technical audiences. To be successful, you should have5+ years of experience in collections analytics, ideally within consumer lending.A degree in a numerate discipline (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or STEM) or equivalent practical experience.Strong proficiency in SQL to query and extract insights from large datasets; experience with Python is a big plus.Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.A solid grounding in probability and statistics, with experience in running controlled champion-challenger tests.Experience with collections strategy, decisioning or segmentation techniques.Experience in creating data monitoring and KPIs with tools like Power BI / Tableau or similar.Understanding of FCA CONC, Consumer Duty, and best practices for supporting vulnerable customers in collections.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a data-driven approach. DesirableExperience developing or maintaining collections models.Knowledge of debt sale or DCA performance analysis.Modelling experience, applied to Financial Services.Experience working in a scale-up or high-growth environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr
