Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner

Job Summary Do you want to be part of an innovative dynamic Talking Therapies (formally IAPT Service) service? Are you passionate about step 2 evidence based psychological therapies for people with common mental health problems (depression and anxiety disorders), delivered in a variety of modalities including over the telephone, face to face, or online, both individually and in groups? We currently have a fixed term vacancy for a qualified PWP who is accredited with the BABCP. You will be based within the Northallerton team to cover maternity leave. The role involves face‑to‑face and remote working (remote only will not be considered). Please note that if you do not hold a Postgraduate Certificate for Low Intensity Interventions from an accredited provider your application will not be considered. It is expected that candidates will be accredited with the BABCP or recently qualified and working towards this. Responsibilities The NHS Talking Therapies Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner will play a critical role in helping shape the future direction of the service by delivering high quality evidence based interventions. The role is a deliberately varied one which has a balance between undertaking assessments and holding a clinical caseload. All PWPs are involved in delivering Guided Self‑Help, Psycho‑education Courses, and Computerised programmes. Qualifications Essential Qualifications PWP qualification from a BABCP accredited PWP programme/apprenticeship If qualifying by the apprenticeship route have also passed the apprenticeship end‑point assessment Accredited with the BABCP as PWP (or working towards accreditation if within six months of qualifying) Desirable Qualifications Key skills in literacy, numeracy and IT Core profession in mental health nursing, social work, occupational therapy, psychology Experience Essential Experience Experience of working with people with common mental health problems in a Talking Therapies setting Ability to demonstrate a range of experiences in offering and delivering a full range of evidence‑based IAPT low intensity interventions Experience of screening, assessing and working with a range of mental health issues at step 2 Experience of working with and managing risk Desirable Experience Experience in drug/alcohol management Experience of "Partnership working" Worked in a service where agreed targets are in place demonstrating clinical outcomes Skills Essential Skills Ability to implement NICE guidance for Step 2 interventions for mental health problems Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including telephone skills Computer skills Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients Desirable Skills Demonstrates knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health Knowledge of medication used in anxiety and depression and other common mental health problems Salary, Contract and Working Patterns Pay scheme: Agenda for change Band: Band 5 Salary: £31,049 to £37,796 a year per annum Contract: Fixed term (12 months) Working pattern: Full‑time Reference number: 346‑NYA‑174‑25‑A Job location: North Moor House, North Moor Road, Northallerton, DL6 2FG Employer Details Employer name: Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust Employer website: https://www.tewv.nhs.uk/ #J-18808-Ljbffr
