Female Support Worker for Female Hub & Central Leeds Services Job Overview Our ‘Somewhere Safe to Stay’ hub offers emergency housing provision for women with complex needs who are street homeless or vulnerably housed. The service operates a 24‑hour female staff provision, including access to specialist domestic abuse support and utilises a multi‑agency approach to ensure the needs of the clients are met. Main duties of the job Person‑Centred – Prepare person‑centred support plans with clients reflecting their views, aspirations, beliefs and opinions, reviewing and amending them as necessary. Respectful – Support clients to fulfil their aspirations, live as independently as possible, accompany them on social visits and events, promote choice and arrange activities and outings. Open – Communicate openly with clients and team members, act with integrity and keep commitments. Understanding – Provide personal care when required, respecting the client’s choices and dignity (e.g., washing and toileting). Dedicated – Keep accurate records, including daily notes, fully involving the client. Work as part of a team to provide holistic support to women needing emergency accommodation. Build strong professional relationships with supporting agencies. Use a trauma‑informed approach to encourage engagement and provide compassionate, informed, choice‑based support. Maintain accurate records and facilitate communication with partner agencies, completing mandatory and service‑specific training. Ensure all support is provided in a way that protects clients from abuse and exploitation, maintains dignity, and supports positive risk‑taking. Use computer packages (Word, Outlook, Internet) and undertake relevant training and qualification if required. Work cooperatively as a team member. Liaise and communicate effectively with carers, families, inspectors and other external stakeholders. Person specification – Experience Essential: Previous experience working in care (employment or carer at home). Desirable: Previous experience working in a nursing setting.
