Wehave an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Orthotist to join our existing teamin Yorkshire.TheRole:To provide high quality Orthoticcare, developing a wide range of knowledge and experience. This role will allowyou the opportunity to specialise in specific areas of Orthotics as yourexperience grows.You will gradually build up your patient caseload, increasingit with time and experience, continually being supported by the rest of theteam whilst also having a designated mentor as part of our Preceptorshipprogram, until you carry a full clinic covering all areas of orthotics.Main duties of the jobAn in-depth knowledge of pathologies commonly seen inOrthotic clinics, their presentation and long-term prognosis.Have logical and thorough assessment skills to build astructured and detailed picture of the patient.The ability to positively interact with patients, useassessment and examination skills to recognise underlying pathologies and riskfactors to understand their orthotic needs.Use the knowledge gained in assessment and diagnosis toprescribe an orthosis that best meets the functional needs and wishes of thepatient and form a treatment plan.The ability to take accurate measurements, outlines and castsof the patient to allow easy and accurate manufacture for all types oforthoses.An understanding of the different aspects and processesinvolved in the manufacture of different orthoses.Have a knowledge of materials used within Orthotics, theiruses, variations and the manufacturing processes involved in their use.The ability to fit and supply a range of commonly prescribedorthosesAbout usSteeper Group is a true leader in the Orthotic, Prosthetic and Assistive Technology products.
