Join us in the role of Cloud Engineer within BAE Systems Digital Intelligence’s National Security division. Location Leeds, England, United Kingdom Key Responsibilities Build and maintain cloud-based solutions for national security customers using AWS. Collaborate with autonomous DevOps teams to design, develop, deploy and support applications and services on AWS. Advise on technology choices, including microservices, API design and infrastructure as code. Participate in full delivery lifecycle, from requirements gathering to post‑deployment support. Work closely with end‑users to understand mission‑critical needs and iterate solutions quickly. Maintain high security standards, help secure code and infrastructure, and work with security and compliance teams. Required Qualifications Extensive AWS experience (ec2, ecs, eks, s3, lambda, rds, kms, elb, sns, sqs, iam). Strong scripting skills (Shell, Bash, Python) and coding experience in at least one Lambda‑compatible language. Proficiency in IaC tools such as CloudFormation, CDK and Terraform. Version control proficiency (Git, Mercurial, Perforce). Agile development experience (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP). Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. Security clearance required; if not currently cleared, eligibility and willingness to complete clearance is mandatory. Desired/Preferred Skills Associate‑level AWS certification (Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps). Experience with microservices, container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, ECS). Knowledge of monitoring, observability, FinOps and CI/CD tools (Bamboo, Jenkins, TeamCity, Bitbucket). Automated testing frameworks and Linux administration.
