About The Role Role: Senior Cyber Security Analyst REF 94867Contract Length: 3 monthsLocation: Hybrid/London – 60% in office per weekIR35: InsidePay Rate to Intermediary: Market RateSecurity Clearance: SC requestedSpinwell is recruiting for a Senior Cyber Security Analyst for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR CYBER SECURITY ANALYSTLead the investigation of security alerts to understand the nature and extent of possible cyber incidentsLead the forensic analysis of systems, files, network traffic and cloud environmentsLead the technical response to cyber incidents by identifying and implementing (or coordinating the implementation of) containment, eradication and recovery actionsSupport the wider coordination of cyber incidentsReview previous incidents to identify lessons and actionsIdentify and deliver opportunities for continual improvement of the incident response capabilityWork closely alongside other cyber defence functions, supporting the continual improvement of wider capabilitiesDevelop and update internal plans, playbooks and knowledge base articlesAct as an escalation point for, and provide coaching and mentoring to, security analystsBe responsible for leadership and line management of security analystsCyber incidents can and do arise on a 24/7 basis. The team operates an out-of-hours on call rota, which you will be expected to join.SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR CYBER SECURITY ANALYSTSignificant experience investigating and responding to cyber incidentsSignificant experience using security tools (e.g., edr, siem) to support the investigation and response to cyber incidentsExperience managing and coordinating the response to cyber incidentsExperience coaching and mentoring junior staffAn in-depth understanding of the tools, techniques and procedures used by threat actorsExcellent analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWe welcome all applications regardless of background, in line with our commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion.We are a Disability Confident employer and guarantee to interview all candidates who have a disability and who meet all the essential criteria for the vacancy.
