Learn more about our mission at kallikor.ai.We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our friendly, relaxed and inclusive team. You’ll be developing and implementing models and simulations used in our digital twins. Our models typically encode real-life systems and behaviours, allowing users to analyse performance and test different scenarios. This role is open to candidates from a wide range of technical backgrounds who have a passion for problem-solving and a desire to work in a collaborative and supportive environment. You\'ll have the chance to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of scientists, modellers, and software engineers who collaborate closely with our product owners and customers to take modelling to the next level.Your Opportunity:Developing and implementing algorithms which result in plausible modelling behaviourBuilding pipelines to extract, synthesise and integrate data from various sources, making it available to simulation engines and user interfacesBuilding tooling that enables model developers to do their work quicker and betterProfiling and improving the performance of models so that we can reach new levels of speed and scaleWorking cross-functionally across Kallikor to support adjacent projects where requiredWrite high-quality, well-tested code following modern engineering practices and design patternsCreate efficient, maintainable code that transforms prototype models into production-ready solutionsWhy you\'re made for this:Essential:Strong software engineering fundamentals including system architecture, design patterns, and development best practicesAdvanced Python programming skills with experience building complex, maintainable systemsProfessional software development experience with a track record of delivering high-quality, production-grade codeExperience with scientific computing libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, or SciPy in production environmentsHolistic software development mindset covering testing, documentation, security, and performanceTrack record of mentoring other engineers and sharing knowledge across teamsDesirable:Working knowledge of mathematical modelling concepts (systems dynamics, event-based modelling, agent-based modelling) and how they translate to codeExperience working with simulation systems or digital twin technologiesSoftware optimization expertise with a focus on improving performance in computationally intensive applicationsWhile we think the above experience could be important, we’re keen to hear from people that believe they have valuable experience to bring to the role.
