Manager - Civil & Structural Location: Derby, Manchester, Warrington Salary: £68,000 - £89,000 DOE We are Rolls‑Royce SMR, building the world’s first SMR power station. Job Overview Manager of civil and structural design for the Generic Product Development Programme, leading teams delivering parts of a new low‑carbon power station. Reporting to the Senior Manager, this middle‑management role requires leading design delivery, mentoring staff, and interfacing with business and external partners. Key Responsibilities Develop and lead civil and structural teams to produce a fully integrated power station design. Manage delivery of design outputs, resolve risks, and maintain project, cost and quality metrics. Implement Health, Safety and Environment policy on all activities. Support senior management of civil and structural team and business development initiatives. Mentor junior staff, foster team wellbeing, and improve working environment. Key Experience and Skills Design management/leadership with 20+ people and £3‑5m annual budget. Experience in large nuclear or industrial infrastructure projects. Strong team leadership, coaching, and mentoring. Excellent stakeholder and supplier relationship management. Proven delivery of complex engineering, integrating design, and managing programme risks. Salary and Benefits Salary £68,000 - £89,000 DOE Performance bonus 17% Benefits allowance £5,000 per annum Pension 12% employer / 6% employee contributions. 28 days holiday (+ public holidays) Private medical insurance (BUPA) Life assurance 6× pensionable pay Application Process Applicants must obtain BPSS clearance, DBS check and a basic financial probity check.
