About the role Dr Andrea Serio & Dr. Sarah Marzi are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Associate at the UK Dementia Research Institute (UK DRI) at King’s College London. This opportunity suits a bright, talented, highly motivated, ambitious individual who will play a key role working on a project focused on the development of a multiomic platform to investigate early molecular signatures of ALS pathology in human motor neurons using a novel system developed in the Serio lab. Responsibilities Generate stem‑cell based models of ALS using the novel cell culture platform. Lead on the multiomic analysis to compare different genotypes, generating NGS and proteomic data from in vitro models. Analyse newly generated data and public datasets (RNA‑seq, ATAC‑seq, proteomics, single‑cell/nuclei). Present findings in regular group meetings to the PI and colleagues. Work collaboratively with team members across the Serio and Marzi labs. Qualifications PhD in Neurobiology, Bioinformatics or a similar field. Post‑doc experience in a research lab, preferably focused on neurobiology or neurodegeneration. Demonstrable expertise in stem‑cell modelling, multiomics and bioinformatics. Experience in live imaging systems and iPSC based in vitro models. Knowledge of ALS and basic neurodegenerative diseases. Strong programming skills in R, Python or other coding languages. Experience with high‑performance computing and Unix/Linux environments. Ability to use version control systems (Git, GitHub).
