1 week ago Be among the first 25 applicantsGet AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.What we are looking for:Reporting into the People & Assurance Director, the Assurance and Risk Manager is an opportunity for an experienced subject matter expert who possesses the skills to drive the company’s assurance and risk management activities across a range of legislative, regulatory and governance topics.Alongside delivering the Assurance and Risk strategy, a primary focus will be to ensure the effective running and administration of the Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Risk (HSSER) Committee, which takes place every four months. Chaired by the CEO, the HSSER is a sub-committee of the Board and is the primary corporate governance channel for overseeing assurance and risk performance across the Company. Consistent with best practice, the Assurance and Risk Manager will also have a dotted line into the CEO.The successful candidate will have proven experience in delivering a range of assurance and risk management activities to a high standard, providing confidence to the business that the operation and risks are effectively managed, and the interests of the Company are protected.About the role:Assurance & Risk Manager will:Assure that legislative and regulatory requirements are adhered to and audit recommendations are actioned.Maintain and coordinate HSSER Committee governance and documentation.Drive risk management activity across the business and facilitate discussions at meetings.Coordinate and administer the HSSER Committee promoting regulatory requirements, industry standards and best practices.Manage a direct report within the Assurance & Risk team.Consistently demonstrate and encourage others to adhere to the Company values.Engage with and adhere to the Company’s policies, procedures and reporting channels.Support the team with ad-hoc activities/tasks as reasonably requested.About you: Skills, Qualifications and ExperienceExperience in audit/assurance or risk management field.Experience of administration and board secretarial duties.Proven track record of successful execution of assurance activities.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Able to work with multiple stakeholders and develop partnerships.Able to show initiative and act proactively.Resilience and ability to cope with ambiguity and change.Evidence of Right to Work in the UK.Professional qualification in assurance, risk management, or audit.Legal and/or Corporate Secretarial experience beneficial.ISO standards knowledge (45001:2018 and 14001:2018).Legislation knowledge (e.g. GDPR).Policy development and implementation process experience.What we can offer:Discretionary annual bonus.25 days holiday per annum plus statutory public holidays.Workplace pension scheme with enhanced employer contributions.Life assurance.Access to private medical plan after probation.Electric vehicle scheme after 9 months.Annual complimentary bike maintenance.Free onsite parking and cycle to work scheme.Employee Assistance programme and helpline.Discount on accommodation, food and beverages at affiliated hotel and pub.Social events and special employee offers.Seniority levelMid‑Senior levelEmployment typePart‑timeJob functionAccounting / AuditingIndustriesAirlines and AviationLocation: Farnborough, England, United KingdomReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Farnborough Airport by 2x #J-18808-Ljbffr
