We are seeking passionate individuals committed to animal welfare to join our team as Animal Welfare Carers at the Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home. The Home has been a safe haven to stray animals since 1883 and still rescues over a thousand lost or abandoned dogs and cats every year. As an Animal Welfare Carer, you will: Provide exemplary daily care for the dogs and cats in accordance with the Home’s code of practice and health & safety guidelines. Educate potential adopters and the general public about animal care and welfare. Maintain excellent customer relations at the centre. Communicate effectively and show empathy towards both humans and animals. Work collaboratively within a small, dedicated team. We are looking for individuals who: Have experience in animal handling, including knowledge of basic behaviour and health concerns. Are detail‑oriented, meticulous, and deeply committed to animal welfare principles. Bring abundant energy, a positive outlook, and a willingness to work hard and embrace challenges.
