The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide equipment and vehicle support to the logistics fleet operation in the form of day-to-day maintenance and inspection. You will ensure full utilisation of the vehicle fleet and keep the equipment in the hands of the user, providing support to the Logistics Operation.We are proud to produce some of Britain’s best loved brands such as Kit Kat, Nescafé, Smarties, Buxton, Go Cat and Shreddies. We possess one of the most sophisticated value chains from farm to fork, putting the consumer at the heart of everything we do.A Day in the Life of a Workshop TechnicianAs a team, we provide a transport solution to support the needs of our customers, factories, copackers and some of our suppliers across Nestle. You’ll provide support to the Transport team to deliver a seamless, proactive service for our 24/7 operation. The department is responsible for the successful delivery of our products including inbound and outbound deliveries as well as work undertaken for and by 3rd parties.Key responsibilitiesAttend the weekly workshop meeting with active participationEnsure all H&S maintained whilst on-site at workComplete DPRs / NCE / IlearnKeep the MOT pass rate at above 90%Carrying out all maintenance and Inspection on a fleet of trailers, tankers and vehicles in line with DVSA and Ministry of Transport regulations and working to the guide to maintaining roadworthiness.Ensuring that all vehicles and equipment complies to all UK road legislation.Management and delivery of small projectsMaintaining all Health and Safety standards as laid down in the Nestle H&S policy.What Will Make You SuccessfulYou will have the following:NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in vehicle mechanics - EssentialFull LGV / HGV licence ID desirable but not essential.Driver CPC is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.Experience within an HGV Technician role – desirable, not essential.Experience within a HGV workshop environmentWorking knowledge of a workshop environment and practicesExperience of working within a technical teamWorking to demand objectives and tracking completionWhat You Need To KnowWe will be considering candidates as they apply and we will occasionally close job advertisements early in the event we receive sufficient applicants, so please don’t delay in submitting your application.At Nestlé, our values are rooted in respect.
