Specialist Education and Development Pharmacist and Clinical Lecturer

OverviewAn exciting opportunity to develop your teaching, clinical and leadership skills whilst supporting pharmacists from the very start of their initial education and training journey. Working in an acute hospital as a clinical lecturer with the University of Brighton, you will deliver both experiential and academic learning to pharmacy undergraduates, including the progressive inclusion of prescribing practice during foundation training by 2025. You will contribute to the delivery of our strategic vision for education and development within the pharmacy department, gaining experience across several dimensions through inter-professional education within the trust and by working closely with multi-sector partner organisations within the Integrated Care System to develop the future pharmacist workforce. There will be opportunities for personal and professional development including the Independent Prescribing Course. ResponsibilitiesSupport both academic and work-placed learning as advised by the University of Brighton, including:Clinical teaching at the bedsideClinical teaching in the recently refurbished simulation suiteOSCE assessmentLectures in line with the individual's expertisePlacement strategy group to ensure placement activity is aligned to employer needParticipation in the department's continuing education activities, including supporting the provision of education programmes and clinical training for other staff members including pharmacists, trainee pharmacists and pharmacy undergraduatesFacilitation of multi-disciplinary training with foundation doctors, nursing staff and AHPsProvision of a clinical pharmacy service including application of non-medical prescribing skills (if applicable) Organisation and ContextWe are one of the largest organisations in East Sussex with an annual income of £568 million and we are the only integrated provider of acute and community care in Sussex.
