Assistant Financial ControllerLocation: NottinghamSalary Range: £50,000 to £55,000 plus benefitsWhat you’ll be doingLeading month end close for the UK entitiesProducing monthly management accounts and consolidating into groupReviewing and approving journals, reconciliations and GBS prepared workOwning cash flow and balance sheet oversightStrengthening SOX controls and supporting internal & external auditsHandling VAT, PSA, CIS and supporting corporation tax workPartnering with Controlling, FP&A and Commercial FinanceTaking the lead on complex areas such as tax documentation, audit queries and bankingSupporting automation, reporting improvements and wider transformation workHelping develop a small UK team through coaching and day‑to‑day supportWhat they’re looking forQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)Experience in group or multi‑entity finance, or a first or second move from practiceStrong focus on processes, controls and month end disciplineConfident reviewing offshore prepared workCalm, organised and proactiveA person who enjoys partnering with people across the businessVAT or wider tax exposure helpful but not essentialWhy it’s a great move£50,000 to £55,000 basic salaryHybrid working and very flexible hoursBroad role across reporting, controls, tax, projects and systemsClear progression towards Finance Director or senior commercial rolesA supportive SLT and an adult, outcome‑focused cultureThis role is being handled by Henry Clarkson at Distinct Recruitment.
