Higher Level Teaching AssistantAt Protocol Education, we are looking for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding and vibrant school in the heart of Newcastle. The successful candidate will have experience in supporting teaching and learning, particularly in covering classes, and will be instrumental in creating an inclusive, engaging, and supportive environment for our students. This role requires a proactive, confident individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to take on responsibility for managing and delivering lessons. You will be expected to cover lessons when teachers are absent, following detailed plans and ensuring that students continue their learning in a safe, structured environment.Job Duties:Supporting the teacher in planning and delivering lessonsAssisting with classroom management and student behaviourProviding one-on-one support to students who require additional helpPreparing materials and resources for lessonsAssessing and recording student progressSupervising students during break times and outingsCommunicating with parents and carers regarding student progressRequired Qualifications:Level 4 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or equivalentEnhanced DBS checkPrevious experience working in a classroom settingEducation:GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and MathsExperience:Experience working with children in an educational settingKnowledge and Skills:Good understanding of the National CurriculumExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively as part of a teamStrong organisational skillsPreferred Qualifications:First Aid certificationAdditional specialised training in areas such as SEN supportIf you'd like to know more, please call or apply nowAll applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
