Role: Stroke ConsultantLocation: Midlands Metropolitan University HospitalSalary: Circa £105,000 – £140,000Start Date: ASAPSandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust are proud to have a Brand New, State of the Art hospital as our new patient centred care giving offering for our local residents.Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opened in October 2024 and provides cutting edge care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises which are flooded with natural light. The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.Your role will largely be based at the new site offering the opportunity to work with state of the art equipment which will allow you fulfil your potential.What do we offer you:Flexible working opportunitiesAmazing development opportunities with the first UK Clinical skills lab being embedded within the hospitalAn opportunity to have access to state of the art equipment within a brand new hospital settingAnnual personal development review, 1:1 supportExternal and Internal coursesServices to support your health and wellbeing (which starts with the layout of the hospital), sanctuary, and free access to onsite gymThe benefit of the NHS pension scheme offeringWhat we need from you:MRCP QualifiedFull GMC Registration with Licence to PracticeEntry on the Specialist Register in Geriatrics, Acute Medicine or Neurology (or entry expected within 6 months from the date of interview)Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining CCT in Stroke MedicineAbility to take full and independent responsibility for the management of acute medical emergenciesAbility to work well with colleagues and within a teamAbility to motivate and develop the multi-disciplinary team, balancing departmental and personal objectivesAbility to use the evidence base and clinical audit to support decision-makingThe ability to appraise junior doctors and other staffYour duties will include:To collaborate and work to maintain Stroke services in line with strategic requirementTo provide, with the other Consultants in the specialty, routine and emergency stroke services to the Trust, operating a system of mutual out-of-hours cover, and cover for annual, study and professional leaveTo provide a consultation and advisory service to medical colleagues in other specialties in the TrustTo develop a special interest to complement those of the existing Consultants in Stroke and in accordance with the priorities of the TrustTo participate in the education and training of junior doctors, medical students, nurses, paramedics and general practitionersTo liaise with medical staff in other specialties and participate in clinical meetings and postgraduate activities in the TrustTo contribute to the development the service, renewal of treatment guidelines and the promotion of greater knowledge of the management of stroke and cardiovascular multimorbidity in the communityTo demonstrate a firm commitment to the principles of clinical governanceDon’t miss this opportunity to join a brand new hospital project which affords some of the best chances for career progression that you are likely to find.If you should have any queries regarding the role then please contact selim.mandri@acaciumgroup.com #J-18808-Ljbffr
