East Cheshire NHS Trust is seeking Bank Doctors in General Medicine at ST3+ level to strengthen our successful Medical Staff Bank. Applicants will work on an ad‑hoc basis providing consistent, high‑level patient care and ensuring continuity of care for the Trust. The role is on an 'as and when' basis with no guaranteed hours, but offers increased flexibility for doctors who wish to select shifts that fit their lifestyle. Applicants must have a minimum of 12 months paid NHS/UK experience; Clinical Attachment posts are not accepted. Due to the Bank contract, the Trust cannot meet UKVI Skilled Worker criteria and therefore cannot provide visa sponsorship. Hourly rate from 6 Oct 2025 (inclusive of 12.5 % annual leave payment): ST3+ – Weekday £55, Weekend £70, Overnight £70, NROC £35 Responsibilities Act as liaison between nurses, other clinicians, patients, and relatives to support safe care. Participate in board rounds, ward rounds and other daily unit activities. Provide appropriate workplace supervision to other staff as and when needed. Maintain high standards of professionalism, especially in documentation. Arrive on time for the shift and be available from the arranged start time. Co‑operate with the workforce deployment team regarding shift administration. Attend local induction when working in new areas. Comply with all local policies, including upholding the Trust's values and behaviour. Qualifications & Requirements Full GMC registration and achievement of the appropriate level of competencies to carry out the role. Minimum of 12 months paid NHS/UK experience. No visa sponsorship available; applicants must hold a suitable visa if required. Successful completion of pre‑employment checks (GMC registration, references, health clearance, enhanced DBS check, identity and right‑to‑work checks). Requires an enhanced DBS check (barred lists included) – cost payable by the successful candidate; overseas police clearance may be required if lived or worked abroad for 6 months or more in the last 5 years.
