Job Description - HSE Officer Overview We are seeking an experienced and people-focused HSE Officer to join our team. This role requires someone who is a strong cultural fit-engaging, personable, and not "robotic" in their approach. You will support multiple sites and teams to ensure high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities Provide HSE support across approximately 250 employees across Warrington, Bredbury, and Sheffield. Conduct and manage audits, safe systems of work (SSOW), and risk assessments. Promote a positive safety culture and support continuous improvement in HSE practices. Collaborate with operational teams to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company standards. Work closely with the HSE Manager, providing site-level insights and support. Experience, Skills & Qualifications Essential: Background in manufacturing or engineering. Experience conducting HSE audits, SSOW, and risk assessments. A practical, engaging communication style with strong cultural alignment. Highly Advantageous: Experience working within the steel industry. Not Suitable: Candidates from a food manufacturing background. Other: Time-served experience is acceptable alongside formal HSE qualifications. Department Structure Reports directly to the HSE Manager. Works as part of the wider HSE function supporting multiple sites and approximately 250 employees. Package & Benefits Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 (up to £40,000 for the ideal candidate) Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm Shift Pattern: Days Holidays: 25 days + 8 statutory Pension: 4% employer / 5% employee Life Assurance: 3x salary Health: Healthcare package Car/Van: Provided (if applicable to the role) Additional: Overtime or shift allowance (if required
