Transport Planner – South Leeds, West Yorkshire Salary: £33,000 – £35,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week Location: South Leeds, West Yorkshire Recruiter: Interaction Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Transport Planner on behalf of our client based in South Leeds. Key Responsibilities Plan and optimise daily routes for a mixed fleet of vehicles (Class 1 HGVs to vans), ensuring cost‑effective and timely deliveries. Monitor driver schedules and ensure compliance with Working Time Directive and driver hours regulations. Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to ensure smooth operations and resolve any delivery issues. React to changes in delivery requirements, traffic conditions, or vehicle availability with effective re‑routing. Maintain accurate records of routes, schedules, and delivery performance. Use transport planning software (experience with Paragon is desirable) to support route optimisation and reporting. Ensure all transport activities are carried out in line with company policies and health & safety standards. Requirements Previous experience in a transport planning or logistics coordination role. Strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network. Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment. Familiarity with transport management systems (TMS); Paragon experience is a plus.
