If you’re a Psychology graduate who wants to turn theory into real-world impact, this role gives you the chance to support a young person who really needs consistent, specialised care. We’re working with a supportive school in Gateshead looking for a steady and emotionally intelligent SEMH Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a pupil who finds school challenging. You’ll be there to help them regulate emotions, build resilience and find small wins that make big differences. This is the kind of role where your psychology background shines. You’ll get to apply everything from behaviour theories to emotional development, all while building trust with a pupil who needs someone patient, grounded and genuinely on their side.
