**THE OPPORTUNITY**
- We anticipate that 50% of role will be dedicated to data-related work under the supervision of Miriam Everett, our Global Head of Data and Privacy.
- The other 50% will be spread across the remainder of our TMT practice and most likely will include advising on technology and telecommunications transactions (projects, M&A, joint ventures, collaborations, outsourcing and licensing), as well as media and entertainment deals and advisory matters, general commercial and digital work.

**Key responsibilities**
- Assist (and where appropriate, lead) on transactions with supervision
- Be responsible for drafting legal advice for clients with supervision and work with senior associates and partners on more complex legal advice
- Be able to provide legally sound but practical and commercial advice tailored to the client
- Adopt a client-facing role for a broad range of clients
- Take an active and client-facing role in business development planning and execution
- Be responsible for the full life cycle of matters from instruction through to billing, including ensuring good financial hygiene at all times
- Implement strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise in order to cope with conflicting demands and meet deadlines
- Supervise and develop Junior Associates, Trainees and Paralegals
- Be open to secondment opportunities with our strategic clients

**SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- 2 - 4 years PQE
- Strong academic history
- Experience in a leading private practice firm or an in-house environment
- TMT and data experience gained from within a leading private practice firm
- High level of commercial awareness
- Excellent drafting and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Desire to be part of a busy, friendly team and work within in a non-hierarchal environment.

HSF places TMT and data at the heart of its strategy: we want to invest in our team to consolidate on its recent success and to build for the coming years' successes. Our TMT and data team works hard to originate the majority of its work, as well as supporting our successful corporate practice and increasingly also supporting the disputes practice, particularly in relation to data disputes.

- Advising Meta on the defence of its £2.3 billion competition class action in relation to its use of user data
- Advising an international education organisation with its responses in connection with regulatory investigations in Norway and the UK regarding the fairness of data processing in the context of the 2020 exam results as a result of the COVID-19 crisis
- Assisting a multinational insurance advisor in relation to responding to regulatory queries stemming from a ransomware attack suffered by the organisation's data processor and affecting its data
- Advising Sky on its carriage arrangements with BT and Virgin Media
- Advising Telefonica on a range of strategic agreements in relation to its network sharing arrangements
- Advising NEOM on a range of matters including TV & film production work, telecoms infrastructure matters and general IT transactions
- Advising Dyson on its global advertising deal with IPG and technology matters
