Clinical Governance Lead Clinical Instructor

International SOS’s global centre of excellence for offshore and occupational health is headquartered in Aberdeen. Led by a team of industry-experienced clinicians, we have substantial expertise in mitigating offshore and occupational health risks as well leading on the health component of any offshore health event or emergency. Today we support over 140 offshore sites in UKCS, 60 of which are O&G producing assets.
We are currently recruiting for someone who can fulfil a hybrid role of a Clinical Governance Lead and a Clinical Instructor.
In the Clinical Governance Lead role, you will assist in the provision of specialist guidance and support to all relevant stakeholders on clinical issues, including risks and opportunities.
In the Clinical Instructor role, you will also assist with the delivery of Medical Training to Offshore Medics and non-medical personnel at the Aberdeen training centre, offsite and remotely.
**Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Clinical Governance**
- Manage professional registration confirmation process - ensuring all clinical registrations are reviewed monthly. Escalating as appropriate when fitness to practice concerns are raised by reviewing team.
- Manage Clinical Governance induction of offshore medics and review/ manage current process for onshore clinicians ensuring fit for purpose.
- Work with International SOS NMC Revalidation process to support all nurses working for International SOS and support delivery once complete.
- Review current clinical appraisal process for both onshore and offshore staff. Where appropriate develop, maintain, and support appraisal process.
- Assisting in generating monthly clinical governance report for submission to the board.
- Ensure the policies and procedures are kept up to date and highlight any changes required to the Medical Director.
- Undertake audits as required
- Carry out investigations in line with Company procedures
- Raise and monitor improvement plans to ensure all remedial actions are completed
**Clinical Instructor**
- Delivery of theory and practical training sessions in accordance with Course Training Plans (CTP) and in accordance with the stipulated requirements of awarding bodies
- Design and review of bespoke CTP and Lesson Plans (LP) alongside awarding body requirements whilst assisting in the creation of training packages to meet the needs of clients and students
- Performance of practical competency assessments, and invigilation of theoretical assessments, in accordance with CTP and LP and awarding body requirements
- Ensure the quality control of training being delivered through participation in audits and the review of data derived from training evaluations and competency assessments.
- Active management, awareness and promotion of Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures, and participation in the promotion of a safe and environmentally friendly working environment
**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Required Skills and Knowledge**:
- Knowledge and experience in the delivery of clinical supervision including medical record review.
- Good IT and presentation skills.
- Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines.
- Proven analysis and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work independently and in small teams
- Customer focused
**Required Work Experience**:
- Registered Nurse, Paramedic or CMT level 1 with substantial post registration experience.
- Previous clinical experience and a good working knowledge around the provision of clinical care in remote environments.
- Previous experience in writing clinical processes and procedures.
- Experience dealing with trauma and acutely unwell patients
- Experience working as a team and using own initiative
**Required Qualifications**:
Diploma or Degree in Nursing, Qualified Paramedic or CMT 1. Nurse or Paramedic must be registered with their governing body.
Qualification in training is mandatory but can be organised once in position

**Travel / Rotation Requirements**:
- Must have driving licence and own mode of transport. Occasional offsite work with potential to go offshore.
