Dstl is at the forefront of science and technology, working to ensure the defence, security, and prosperity of the United Kingdom. As a Commercial Officer within the Commercial Function, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's mission by overseeing sourcing, contract management, and related administrative activities. This position provides essential commercial procurement support for Divisions, contributing to the effective and efficient operation of Dstl.

As a COMMERCIAL OFFICER, your main responsibilities will be:

- Advising project staff on acquisition strategies for procurements._
- Acting as Commercial Point of Contact for Competitive Tender exercises and placing subsequent contracts for funded proposals, attend meetings and provide Commercial advice as required._
- Providing contract management or supporting contract management activity._
- Supporting administrative activities as required. Ie. PO amendments, closures_

Role Requirement:

- Experience of tendering and placing contracts considering the Public Procurement Regulations._
- The ability to think ahead and plan own workload._
- Developed communications skills and ability to work in collaboration with colleagues, project staff and engage suppliers as part of contract negotiations._
- The ability to develop and select cost effective options._
- The ability to seek and implement opportunities for improved service delivery and efficiencies._
- Knowledge of public procurement regs._
- Experience of managing contracts_
