**Grafton Recruitment**are looking to recruit**an experienced Assistant Buyer to join a well-respected supplier to the UK food service market based in Burton on Trent.**

**As an Assistant Buyer,** you will work alongside the Head Buyer, in **supporting** the production **site to manage the procurement of materials and services for the site**.

**The Assistant Buyer will liaise with suppliers, manage performance** and **monitor quality of materials**. The post holder will **resolve invoice queries** and complete any relevant **administrative processes**.

**List of responsibilities as a Buyer**:

- Support in the Negotiation with suppliers and providers and information collection.
- Ability to maintain, and monitor supplier supply contracts.
- Internal and external Stakeholder management and the ability to build strong vendor relationships.
- Updating the internal teams about any delays or problems with suppliers and working with internal teams to resolve and overcome issues in a timely manner.
- Track and document seasonality of markets and their impact to Purchasing demands.
- Support and implement with guidance the Strategic Purchasing strategy, involving the engagement and execution able alignment with internal and external stakeholders.
- Following up with suppliers where required on actions and meeting outcomes.
- Work with the Head Buyer in supporting the NPD function in new products sourcing.
- Staying up-to-date with industry trends.
- Purchase orders, Invoice resolution.
- Maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
- **Experience in a food-manufacturing**:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent IT skills including Excel.
- Commercially aware.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Attention to detail.
- Full UK Driving License.
- Ability to travel, Possible nights away.
