**What you’ll be doing**

You will support the Internal and Stakeholder Communications Manager to lead on the delivery of advice, communications and engagement activities to support the IET’s 2030 strategy and aligned to the IET’s various change programmes, ensuring consistent messagingand a clear organisational narrative. You will also support the Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) to deliver our EDI Strategy. As such this role will be known internally as 'Senior Internal Engagement and EDI Executive’.

**A little more about the role**
- Contribute to the work of IET’s Internal Communications and Engagement and EDI functions, devising proactive ways of raising the profile of our people and IET activities via internal communications channels and helping to inform members of the work of theInstitution.
- Deliver a calendar of engagement opportunities and EDI awareness/celebration days, involving colleagues in decision-making processes and having a positive impact on our values, behaviours and delivery of our 2030 strategy.
- Deputise for the Head of EDI and Internal and Stakeholder Communications Manager when needed.
- Management of engaging and inspirational speeches and presentations for the CES, President and other senior representatives, often to tight timescales
- Delivery of internal EDI resources and campaigns.
- Represent the Internal Communications and Engagement and EDI teams on various networks and committees.
- Support the delivery of existing IET initiatives to promote engagement with under-represented/protected characteristics groups - and assess the opportunity to establish any new initiatives.
- Work in collaboration with colleagues across the IET.
- Assist with databases and the creation and production of newsletters.
- Keeping minutes and actions recorded in team meetings.
- The post may require occasional travel, including to our London office, Savoy Place.

- Experience in communications or journalism.
- Experience of internal, stakeholder and /or change communications.
- Experience of social media, including a range of communications platforms including the intranet.
- Demonstrates a good understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives and interventions.
- A demonstrated track record of success.
- Able to present information clearly, accurately and to a range of audiences.
- Strong interpersonal and team working skills, including the ability to work with senior colleagues and volunteers.
- Able to work as part of a team to deliver results.
- Able to plan, prioritise and manage their workload, with a flexible and positive approach to problem solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including speechwriting.
- Ability to handle competing demands from stakeholders and to prioritise work.
- A collaborative and inclusive team member who is able to work well with colleagues from across the organisation, showing high levels of integrity.
- Flexible, creative and independent approach to work, with strong evidence of using own initiative and delivering excellent results.
