**ROLE PURPOSE**:
This is an executive level position overseeing the student services, leading strategically the development and delivery of academic wellbeing, student support and experience. This role is responsible for ensuring ACM continues to meet its own high standards for student support, by acting as the key liaison between all departments.
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Overseeing student welfare, wellbeing and the student services teams.
- Working with the marketing team, timetable team, and admissions team to create and deliver effective student communications.
- Supporting students in the lead up to graduation with employment and employability advice, linking with the industry experience team
- Overseeing graduation preparations and delivery each academic year.
- Facilitating and creating flexible learning opportunities and spaces in a way that is empathetic to and mindful of a diverse student body
- Promoting academic success and goal achievement for online learners through the development of support frameworks
- Creating and managing strategic planning for support with Additional Needs and Disabilities - Supporting and promoting widening participation strategies
- Working with the Group Lead on Student Experience to continue the development of student organisations and activities, embedding student voice into practice.
- Take overall ownership over the review, development and enhancement of student policies and the student charters
- Collaborate with digital education and IT teams to support students and education management teams’ access to and development of systems. Including but not limited to: ACM’s management information systems; timetabling; virtual learning environment; business intelligence solutions
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for the development, deployment, maintenance, evaluation, and improvement of online Student Support Tools
- Act as an integral stakeholder of the Education Management team, attending all education meetings and academic boards as required, acting as the internal advocate for students - Maintain open communication between Admissions, Student Services, Student Risk, Additional Needs and Disabilities, Student Finance and the Executive Team - Building and maintaining a framework for Annual Monitoring of the student experience for continuous improvement and enhancement.
- Maintain an understanding of upcoming sector developments and develop action plans and strategies in response to those changes;
- Maintain detailed knowledge of ACM’s policies and regulations;
- Be prepared to engage with tasks and functions at all levels in order to develop and maintain a ‘real world’ and ‘on the ground’ approach to strategic planning.
- Be a key stakeholder and lead in delivering ACM’s ambitious student experience strategy - Monitoring and supporting the education team in developing initiatives around student progression and retention.
- Keeping across external developments in student support by attending external conferences and monitoring national guidance and legislation in education
- Managing the Academic Wellbeing at ACM with management responsibilities for the Mentoring Team and Study Skills Tutors
