**The work you will be doing.**
As the Motivational Interviewing (MI) Practice Lead, you’ll lead on a strategy to develop and further embed MI skills and strengths-based practice to all Family Safeguarding (FS) local authorities nationally. You’ll support them in every aspect of rolling out this strategy, including training, coaching, and providing ongoing support and guidance to practitioners, managers, and a range of partners. Evaluating the impact of MI training, you’ll provide regular performance reports, to demonstrate the impact of the work you do to improve skills and knowledge of MI. As the main point of contact for all MI queries, you’ll not only be an expert in your field, but will also facilitate a culture of continuous learning and development.
**The skills you will need to thrive in this role.**
This is a highly skilled role, you’ll therefore need to have a great deal of experience in using MI practice to deliver change, strengths-based approaches and substantial practical experience of using MI therapeutically. Ideally, you’ll have a background in psychology, mental health, probation, substance misuse or social work and are looking for a change in career that allows you to use these skills to develop others. You’ll use your skills and expertise across multiple stakeholders, so tailoring your tools and approaches for different audiences and solutions is key. You’ll be working closely with colleagues of all levels and from different professionalisms, so excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills are essential.
