Children's Practitioner

We have an exciting opportunity for a Children’s Practitioner with experience of working with families and young people, to support the work of our Children Looked After Service in the areas of Hemel Hempstead and Stevenage.
We need individuals with resilience and a passion for improving outcomes for looked after children.
We need individuals who are hardworking and willing to work as a team.
You will be involved in supporting Social Workers in undertaking intervention with children and their families by using Motivational Interviewing techniques, having access to specialist resources and tools to engage positively with young people.
You will be responsible for undertaking direct work, life story work, supervising contact, and liaison with partner agencies. The role is challenging, interesting and varied with no two days being the same. You will therefore need to be highly motivatedand able to work on your own initiative, having some knowledge of safeguarding procedures and legislation pertaining to children and families. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential to support the team. This is an excellent opportunityto really make a difference to the lives of children and young people looked after.
