**£50,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience) + great benefits**
As Head of Operations, you will responsible for engaging the whole team in meeting challenging production targets across our two divisions supporting the strategic direction of the business. This will include being an inspiring and relatable leader, driving operations, maximising resources, generating revenues and managing organisational change. You will be pivotal in ensuring success by achievement of customer, financial, quality and operational objectives.
You will support a culture of team working, people development, continual improvement and operate in alignment with our business values to achieve long term success through people, organisation, process improvement and customer focus.
**Key Responsibilities will include**:
- Management and leadership of production, warehousing & despatch, quality, health, safety and environment departments across our Jenx & Jiraffe divisions (c. 70 people)
- Overall development and coaching of managers and supervisors within your areas of responsibility to achieve daily targets and objectives
- Engage the whole team in the goals, vision and a collaborative environment in line with Jenx Ltd values; enable recovery plans and work closely with other departments
- Champion culture development initiatives and continuous improvement
- Consistent analysis of key operational KPI’s and maintaining managers’ accountability for results
- Maintaining optimal headcount within budget to achieve capacity, efficiency, financial results and customer service
- Be accountable for departmental cost management such as inventory, overtime, material wastage etc. and manage the departmental budgets
- Ensure site compliance to health and safety, environmental requirements and audit activity to support the company’s products and reputation as an employer of choice and a quality supplier
- Drive process improvements on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by appropriate data
- Ensuring suitable and flexible structures are implemented and maintained for communications with all staff within your area of responsibility
- Develop the use of systems and data to aid effective decision making
- Lead and drive improvement projects
**Skills and Experience Required**
- Highly people orientated leadership skills
- Great communication skills and the ability to engage and empower a multi-discipline team
- Experience in a similar role and of operating at both strategic and operational levels
- Comfortable being hands-on in an operational environment
- The ability to quickly understand business challenges and engage the team in realistic and achievable plans
- Minimum 3 years management in a bespoke manufacturing environment (or highly transferable skills).
- Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
- Experience of change management processes
- Ability to prioritise & work smartly
- Awareness of current and employment legislation/standards (including quality and environmental)
