Nursery Room Leader

**Nursery Room Leader Responsibilities**:
- To work alongside and support the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager/Room Leader to develop the Nursery, to provide good quality childcare in line with OFSTED, Every Child Matters and the Early Years Foundation Stage requirements.
- To motivate, lead and supervise the Nursery staff, support curriculum planning and to oversee the implementation of action plans. To provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for children from 3 months to 5 years.
- To act as a role model for best practice within the environment, to develop and provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care.
- To oversee and provide support to other personnel in the Nursery to help facilitate the implementation of the daily routine and to take the lead on ensuring sound liaison and excellent communication with parents and carers of children.
**Nursery Room Leader Requirements**:
Essential
- Level 3 (e.g. NNEB) or above as defined by the Early Years Qualification List
- Literacy, Numeracy and IT skills at Level 2 or willingness to work towards
- Strong knowledge of OFSTED framework as it relates to Early Years Foundation Stage and Every Child Matters
- Ability to lead and organise a team in a nursery setting
- Evidence of a customer focused approach
- Up to date knowledge of safeguarding, including risk assessment processes
- Commitment to and understanding of sound Equality & Diversity practice
- Commitment to Health & Safety including management of risk assessment processes
- Knowledge of data protection and ability to deal appropriately with confidential information
- Knowledge and understanding of parental involvement in children's learning; evidence of ability to work with parents in understanding their children's needs;
- Commitment to personal CPD and evidence of commitment to developing others
Desirable
- Hold a current paediatric first aid certificate
- Designated Safeguarding Officer or willingness to work towards
- Proactive commitment to quality improvement and ability to evidence impact

**Salary**: £19,504 - £19,832 per annum
