**Your new role**
Due to a recent contract win, Hays Civils are looking to recruit a Site Agent/Site Manager to work on our Thames Water Based Contracts (Thames Valley) - as a Site Agent/Site Manager your role will be apart of the delivery team, responsible for carrying outsafe, efficient and on time delivery of water and wastewater schemes in the Thames Water/Thames Valley region. Works across the framework may include shafts construction, pumping station, mains laying, deep drainage de-watering, tunnelling, directional drillingand lining.
As a Site Agent/Site Manager your duties and responsibilities will be:

- Managing site teams ensuring a zero compromise to Health, Safety, Environment and Wellbeing to all our employees and those impacted by our works
- Lead and promote a safe zero harm culture
- Follow Business Management Systems and processes to ensure right first-time delivery in a quality-controlled environment
- Write RAMS, T&IPS, briefings, TBTs, NCRs, control permits and temporary works on site
- Manage Engineers, Supervisors and specialist Subcontractors and build collaborative teams
- Manage labour, plant and materials
- Manage customers and general public impacted by our works
- Developing and delivering project management plans including environment, quality, safety, health and wellbeing
- Follow and promote company initiatives and ensure we deliver safe, on time, efficient projects that delight our client and the customers
- Carry out site inductions, tool box talks and the coaching of staff in construction techniques, ensuring appropriate use of PPE
- Coordinate document control and design management for your project
- Ensure the timely close out of actions arising from internal and external audits
- Participate in investigations and continual improvement
- Completion and sign off permits as required
- Checking training certification and competence
- Ensuring plant and equipment is safe, calibrated and being used by authorised personnel
- Complete and submit site audits and close out actions arising
- PPE checks
- Ensure compliance with NRSWA notices and permit conditions
- Timely implementation of business management processes in respect of site works and conducts site inductions, briefings, tests and inspections, forward planning, coaching of site staff, cost, and document control as applicable
- Driving the implementation of Quality Assurance and Health and Safety and Environmental matters to achieve right first-time delivery and continuous improvement
- Provide leadership to site staff, drive forward site programmes, maintain progress and cost records, promote knowledge and understanding of Quality, Safety and Environmental matters on construction sites and offices
- Management of subcontractors including induction and interface liaison
- Manage the surveying requirements and lead handover to operations
- Assist with the auditing process ensuring the timely close out of actions arising from internal and external audits
- Represent the company at Thames Water Client & other external audits and in meetings with external bodies, councils etc
- Share best practice across site teams by coaching subordinate staff in correct construction techniques
- Ensure that your projects are effectively resourced and that key personnel are retained and developed delivering accurate and timely engineering data to support design, construction and handover of projects
To be considered you must have:

- Degree/HND/HNC or equivalent in construction management or engineering
- Experience of water or waste water infrastructure
- Control of costs and value management
- Schedule management
- SMSTS
- Health and Safety training or recognised certification such as NEBOSH or similar
- Understanding of temporary works requirements
- Good communication skills with the ability to influence and present information in a clear, logical and informative way
- Good analytical, facilitation and problem-solving skills
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Excellent customer service skills
